Welcoming October With Pumpkin Recipes

by kitchenarian on October 1, 2012

Hello October!

This is my favorite time of the year. I love the cool mornings and watching the leaves as they begin to change color. I love putting on the first sweater when the evenings get chilly, fixing the first fire in the fireplace and pulling out my Le Creuset pot and making the first soup or chili of the season. I love all the colors and flavors of fall.

What is fall without pumpkins? I love the family outing to the pumpkin patch, picking the perfect pumpkins and, of course, the carving of the pumpkins. And then there is the baking. Pumpkin is so delicious, whether baked into a sweet pie or served with pasta for a savory meal.

I’ve been looking all around the web finding inspiration in some of my favorite blogs and discovering some new blogs as I look for fall recipes to share. Here is a round-up of some delicious pumpkin recipes, sweet and savory, to bake this fall.

Thanks, Jenn. I can’t wait to try your savory pumpkin cheesecake spread. I am planning on making it for a big tailgate event when I visit my son at school later this month.

Love this time of year too. I have begun to get pumpkins (cooking) from my weekly farm CSA and have started up with all the tried-and-true recipes as well as innovating some new ones. Always feels so comforting doesn’t it?

Oh how I adore pumpkin!!! Thanks for using one of our posts, and thanks for introducing me to new ones. I’ve already stocked up my pantry with TJ’s pumpkin and am eager to get going (even though our temps are in the 80′s today…!)
