Kitchenarian Project 50 – A Review

by kitchenarian on November 30, 2010

I started the Kitchenarian Project 50 in September.  For those of you that have just started reading recently and even for those that have been with me from the beginning, I think it is a great time to look at the list collectively and see where we are.

Kitchenarian Project 50 is a list of the top kitchen items that I believe you should have in your kitchen. From my ten years of experience in high-end kitchen stores, these are the items that I have discovered perform the best, hold up the longest and sell the best.  These are all items that I own and use.  In some cases, these might be the more expensive kitchen items to buy, but this list is based on quality and performance – something that one can truly appreciate in the kitchen.

Each item links back to the original blog in case you want to gather a bit more information. As you can see, we are far from over, but what a great start!

I also have a knife addiction and mine looks very much like yours. I loved your picks and even am buying the cutting board as a gift. Great post!

I have such an addiction when it comes to cookware and kitchenware. Too bad, we always move and until we get the permanent place I am restricted to go wild for them. But I love reading and dreaming about them 🙂 Thanks for sharing 🙂

Well, I am all about the gadgets and it is funny – everywhere I travel for work the classes always have huge vitamix fans. I’ve never used one but they sound great. I agree with almost all your list so far – I have other favs than all-clad – I like Mauviel- but it is great cookware. Have you seen the new cutting boards from LamsonSharp? They are like epicurian but no petroleum in the board and all recycled materials. I think they are going to be a big deal next year. They are called Paperstone.

I love Mauviel copper too. It will show up at some point on the list. I also love Demeyere. Great stuff!!

I am familiar with Lamson Sharp, but have not seen their cutting boards. I will definitely look into it.

The Silpat is essential to our kitchen. Cookies cannot be baked without it!!

We are happy we found you 🙂 . Cooking is made so much easier when you have the right tools. Since we are expatriates in a foreign country and newlyweds starting over again, we are building again from scratch. But this time, we are acquiring those things that last a lifetime. Our chef half is totally into gadgets and our steward half is coming around to liking gadgets as much as shoes! We have pics of the Mauviel collection on our facebook fan page and a pic with the President and CEO! We hope to cook at home with such finery.
